About PlanetAlexander

I’m Alex, a Queensland prop maker/cosplayer with a love of making “different” and weird nerdy things. I’ve been cosplaying since 2015 and in the past few years shifted my focus to prop making and creature design.

Over the years I’ve worked in many different types of mediums. Primarily they include foam and 3D printing, but also resin and silicone, traditional sculpting, woodworking and sewing. Recently I have begun learning puppetry and animatronic techniques to bring my creatures to life.
For more than eight years I’ve been using the 3D modelling software Blender, which has allowed me to make 3D models, sculptures, foam and fabric patterns, renders and environments.

One of my goals when crafting is to make my work unique – either attempt something new, or put my own spin on it. This has allowed me to really develop problem solving skills and learn a bunch of new cool things.
